Halloween + Baked BLT Dip

We had the best Halloween! This was our first time trick or treating in our new neighborhood, and the sense of community was fabulous. Our sweet neighbors had a party prior to everyone going out on their own, so it was loads of fun to chat with everyone and to get to know some newer faces. I brought Baked BLT Dip as an appetizer, and it was delicious...will definitely make it again. Recipe is below, along with lots and lots of pictures of my cuties!

Lily is slightly obsessed with Paw Patrol, so she's known for a while that she wanted to be Skye. I ordered her costume online a few weeks ago, and we thought it was perfect!

Hadley proudly wore her Gumball Machine costume again...that outfit was such a score! I'm going to check out TJ Maxx again next year...they have a great costume selection!

I wanted to be a little festive, so last minute I threw on some cat ears and drew on some whiskers.

Our neighbors set up a craft table for the kids, and Lily had as much fun with that as she did getting candy. And y'all, what's so funny is Hadley doesn't like candy one bit. We had to convince her to still go door-to-door and to let people put candy in her bucket. Lucky for Lily, she gave it all to her afterwards!

Even Rob agreed to be a little festive and dressed up as a Nascar fan!

Lily had fun sorting her candy after all was said and done. Now the fun part begins...bargaining with a 5-year-old for the next few weeks over how many pieces of candy she can have each day!

 Baked BLT Dip
{Betty Crocker}

1 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup sour cream
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
1 tomato, seeded and chopped (I used a total of 6 Roma tomatoes)
1/4 cup chopped green onions

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix mayonnaise, sour cream, and cream cheese in a bowl until thoroughly combined. Crumble bacon into mixture and stir. Add cheddar cheese, green onions, and tomato. Mix well. Pour into a shallow baking dish and bake for 20 minutes or until bubbling.

After it came out of the oven, I added a pretty good layer of shredded lettuce...because it wasn't BLT dip in my opinion without the L. Ha! I sprinkled green onions and tomatoes on top for garnish and served with Fritos. I think any kind of thicker cracker would be good too!

Hope everyone has a good day...I'll be recovering from the sugar high! :)
